The spirit and genius remains, Ray Manzarek (1937-2013)
The Doors were one of the first classic rock band I listened to almost everyday. Ray’s death has come as a complete shock and I don’t really know how to feel about it all. We love you Ray, please create sweet, sweet music with Jim up there. Rest in peace.

Yes yes, I’m learning about China at the turn of the century. Just found it equally ironic and humorous that Hong Xiuquan did not like foreigners, yet was a devout, practicing Christian and that Qing called upon the aid of British and French troops to combat the problem when China had a closed door policy. It’s all quite intriguing, however, and I do love the topic :)
If the Taiping Rebellion wasn’t the most contradicting thing in the whole entire world then I don’t know what was.
